Built by Tippman for the US Army, the Alpha Black Elite uses 98 Custom internals proven for reliable performance under extreme conditions. The aluminum body is built to withstand all the abuse that rocks and trees can throw at the course. Like the old Alpha Black, the Elites receive the Alpha Black E-Grip, Tippman 98 Reaction trigger and Cyclone feed system. The design features a 7/8" tactical rail on the receiver and comes with a removable carry handle for the rear sight. The barrel now has a lower front 7/8" rail for bipods, flashlights, lasers, etc. Alfa Black Elite gives you more options to customize your brand in the future!

The Tippman Alpha Black is a common tool for new paintball players, and the reason is very simple. It looks like a real gun! Based on the most popular paintball gun of all time (the Tippman 98 Custom), the Alpha Black cartridges are classic recoil goodness. These internals work and with a little extra work (polishing the internals and putting in high quality O-rings) you can make this marker work well (all my runs are +/- 3 fps between shots, even with Co2!). Compressed air or CO2 tanks can be used on this marker, but I always recommend a distance line for this style of marker as it keeps the weight of the tank off the rifle and off your back! If you decide to go this route, make sure your remote has a feed control so you can take it out of the gun without removing the tank, and you'll need to get a tank/pod hanger to attach to your body.

The case of this gun is aluminum, which makes it very durable! It has a dummy magazine that holds tools for your pointer and can be removed by pushing the retaining pin. And it has a front cover where the barrel is installed. It also has a great adjustable stock in the back so you can slide it in or out to fit your perfect shoulder rest for your gun.

The Alpha Black Elite comes with a detachable hand grip and has a Picatinny rail on the bottom for a light or other accessories. It has a good stock on the back that can be moved in and out as preferred. The air gun (steel braided) works under the handle and steel tanks fit under the stock.

Barrels are usually the first pointer upgrade and since the shrew is so long you need a longer barrel with elites. Be sure to measure the new barrels when inserting the shell to make sure they fit. Mine is equipped with the Apex barrel system and the smaller 14" version doesn't fit the shell so I went with the 18" Apex 2 which fits the shell perfectly.

Other upgrades include the ability to feed with magma using the Tippman 98 magfeed adapter, or you can fit a cyclone feed system to it. You can also upgrade to e-trigger or reaction trigger. With the Elite model, you can remove the top mount and add sights or other fancy-looking accessories.

So if you want a reliable marker that looks like a real gun, the Tippman Alpha Black Elite might be for you! Keep in mind that it weighs less than other smaller brands because it has a large footprint, just like a real gun! However, if you don't have picky hands, it could be perfect for you! Remember to always wear a mask around paintball guns, and best of all, Tippman products are so well made that you spend more time playing than working on them!
